Flood Inundation Caused by Sudden Collapse Glacier Under Climate Change

Flood Inundation Caused by Sudden Collapse Glacier Under Climate Change
Flood Simulation Map (2026)

Glacier is one of caused on Nepal Flood in 27 August 2026. A big glacier in Langtang Lirung triggered the flash flood, near the Nepal-China border. A collapse glacier sent wall of ice, mud, and rock down into river valleys. Many houses , humans, hydropower project, bridge and facilities were found washed away and its impact to huge damage at downstream area. It should be noted that climate change should be highly consider in order to deeply understand the glacier sudden collapse in the near future. Also, flood map should be develop to obtain the optimal counter measure to reduce water disaster in the near-future.
